HOME CARE
Following periodontal treatment excellent plaque control performed at home is essential to the success of treatment. The difference between a good result and a less than ideal result is dependent on adequate home care. Techniques for disturbing plaque with brushing, flossing and proxabrushes will be included in periodontal treatment. Excellent home care will also help reduce any sensitivity post treatment. Occasionally adjunctive agents such as fluoride treatments, dry mouth products and mouthwashes are also recommended.
The home care plan is customised for individual patient needs and skills.
